Tai Huang was captain of Sao Feng's guards. He was stationed in Singapore at the time of the planning of Jack Sparrow's rescue from Davy Jones' Locker. Tai Huang met Elizabeth Swann and Hector Barbossa before they went to Sao Feng's bath house to tell him about Jack Sparrow. He claimed in the Locker to Jack that his allegiances lie to "the highest bidder". He later captured the rescue crew after returning from the Locker off the coast of Black Sand Beach. After Sao Feng's death, he refused to accept Elizabeth as the new captain of the Empress but later claimed she was out of fear when Davy Jones asked who the captain was. Tai Huang was the first to leave the cell when Admiral James Norrington released them. He later participated during the Battle of Calypso's Maelstrom.
