Hermoine Granger is a friend of Harry Potter in the theme of the same name. She is also a friend of Ron Weasley. She is in the Gryffindor House, like her two friends. She is the smartest of the group, helping Harry in his many adventures. She wasn't always Harry and Ron's friend until they saved her from a troll in the girl's bathroom. She payed them back by lying to Professor McGonagall about what really happened. Viktor Krum also has a soft spot for her. She is in Gryffindor House. In the sixth film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry finds out she is secretly is in love with Ron. She has a cat named Crookshanks and almost ruined her relationship with Ron when Ron was convinced Crookshanks ate his rat, Scabbers (which didn't happen) and turned out to be Peter Pettigrew. She helps Harry fight in the Ministry of Magic with her friends Harry, Ron, Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood. In the books she also started a house elf society called The Society of Prevention of Elfish Welfare. (or S.P.E.W. Ron complains that they're called Spew.). In the second film, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, she was petrified (that means fossilized) by the Basilisk, and was sent to the hospital wing for the rest of the film, but at the end, she was revived by Madam Pomfrey, who used Wingardum Levorsia.
