He is close to Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He can fly a broom well and competes in the aerial sport of Quidditch. He has defeated Quirrel, a former (evil) defense against the dark arts teacher, destroyed a Basilisk, a large snake-like creature, fought off more than a hundred dementors, saw the evil dark wizard Lord Voldemort's re-birth, almost got expelled from Hogwarts, the British wizarding school, and has faced Voldemort multiple times.
